Which Preset Fits Which Document? A Quick Guide

Once the number of document types grows, one question comes up again and again: where should we start?

The good news is that the decision is usually simpler than it seems. A quick match between document type and target output is often enough.

If the file contains a PDF table

Start with PDF to Excel Table. If the PDF is scanned rather than text-selectable, Scanned PDF to Excel Table is usually the better choice.

If the document is an invoice

Invoice Data to Excel is the most direct starting point.

If you are working with bank activity

Bank Statement to Excel or CSV gives a cleaner path.

If the source is a receipt or an image

For receipts, start with Receipt Photos to Excel. For more general image-based tables, Image to Excel Table fits better.

If you need one combined dataset

Merge Multiple Documents into One Table is designed for that exact job.

If you still are not sure

You can browse the preset library or reach out via the Help Center. In practice, the right starting surface shapes the rest of the workflow more than most teams expect.
